Cello

The cello is a large stringed instrument that is played while being seated. The string made be played with a bow, or plucked with fingers, similar to a violin. The cello can produce a very wide range of tones, from very low to quite high.

The cello is sometimes played alone, as a solo instrument, or in a small group. It is also an important member of symphony orchestras, which may have anywhere from eight to twelve cellos.

An interesting fact- when professional musicians travel by airplane, they often book a seperate seat for their cello rather than risking it down below with the other checked baggage!

Push play to listen to the sound of the cello.
